Helios the Sun God

 Helios god of the sun

Helios was known as the Titan god of the sun and driving the sun chariot. His sisters were Eoas and Selene. He was also the guardian of the othes and the god of the gift of sight. He had three daughters. Helios had one son named Pheathon.  He was also a cow and sheep farmer.

Helios's three daughters were called the Heliades. There names were Aegiale, Aegle, and Atheria. Some believe Helios had two more daughters, but others say they were the daughters of Neaeria. The three Heliades loved to help untak their fathers horses after there long journey.

Phethon was Helios's only son.  Phethon got what ever he wanted from his father.  Phethon was most well known for wrecking his fathers sun chariot. This resulted in the tragic death of Phethon.

Helios was also a livestock farmer. The two animals he farmed were cows and sheep. Helios owned a cow for every day of the year and a sheep for every night. Every night the the cows followed him home from his journey and the sheep went to their pasture in the sky.
